...to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a foreign language. Don't search for answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.

あなたの心のなかの未解決のものすべてに対して忍耐を。そして問いそのものを愛してください、例えば閉ざされた部屋のように、あるいは未知のことばで書かれた本のように。答えを探さないでください、今は与えられないのです。あなたはまだそれを生きることができないから。大切なのは、すべてを生きることなのです。今は問いを生きてください。そうすればきっと、いつか遥か未来に、次第に、気づきもしないうちに、答えの中へ生きていくことになるでしょう。
